Chandigarh, Sept. 1 -- A restaurant owner was shot dead by a gangster in Amritsar late last night in what the police described a 'targeted attack'.
According to sources, two assailants arrived on a motorcycle. While one waited outside, the other entered the restaurant and asked the owner, Ashutosh, for a bottle of water. As he went to fetch it, the attacker fired approximately six shots. At least three bullets struck Ashutosh.The attackers then fled the scene on their motorcycle.
Ashutosh was rushed to a private hospital where where doctors declared him dead. Police personnel from Mohkampura station reached the spot and launched an investigation.
