Gangtok, July 5 -- Chief Minister P S Tamang has highlighted the reason behind observing 'A Day for Mother Earth' in Sikkim and importance of pollution free environment.
The CM has said, 'the Government of Sikkim last year had launched a new green initiative of dedicating "A Day for Mother Earth" on July 7 every year. Likewise, this year also, we will be celebrating the day with great zest and fervour taking up environment friendly activities across the State. The day is also coinciding with the closing day of Van Mahotsav Week i.e. July 1 to 7.'
