Nashik, Jan. 21 -- The long-billed white-backed vulture (ID: J132), which had become exhausted and underweight after travelling from Pench Tiger Reserve (Nagpur) to Anjaneri in Maharashtra, was successfully released into its natural habitat at the Anjaneri Vulture Conservation Reserve after completing treatment and recovery at the Wildlife Treatment Centre (TTC), Mhasrul.
The vulture was rescued on December 29, 2025, in a weak condition, suffering from anemia and low body weight, through a joint effort of officials and staff from the East Nashik Forest Division and the organisation AREAs. It remained under medical care at the Mhasrul facility until its release.
