RePORT India meet highlights urgent need for people-centered approach to tackle TB epidemic
Hyderabad, April 10 -- Over 3 lakh Indians were estimated to have succumbed to tuberculosis (TB) in 2023, reinforcing the urgency for improved preventive and diagnostic measures in the country that bears the world's highest TB burden.
Against this backdrop, the 14th annual meeting of the RePORT (Regional Prospective Observational Research for Tuberculosis) India initiative commenced on Thursday at the CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad.
The three-day event, running from April 10 to 12, brought together 115 scientists, clinicians, and epidemiologists from India and the USA, all part of the RePORT India consortium.
