Chandigarh, July 11 -- A potential sacrilege case reported at the residence of former Punjab Cabinet Minister Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon in Amritsar's Ranjit Avenue area drew swift attention from police authorities and religious leaders.

However, preliminary investigations conducted by the police and representatives of the Shiromani Dharam Parchar Committee (SDPC) have found no concrete evidence of sacrilege.

According to reports, Kairon had kept a copy of the Guru Granth Sahib at his home for personal worship.
