Lucknow, April 30 -- Uttar Pradesh government has expedited the process of providing relief to farmers affected by recent adverse weather conditions, including storms, fires, hailstorms and excessive rainfall.
The administration has been instructed to remain active in the field, conduct rapid assessments, and ensure prompt distribution of assistance so that no affected farmer is left without support.
Officials here today said in the 2026-27 period, incidents of fire have caused crop damage across eight districts - Barabanki, Ballia, Banda, Maharajganj, Mathura, Pilibhit, Rampur, and Sonbhadra - affecting a total of 111.134 hectares. Out of 668 affected farmers, 51 have so far been provided relief amounting to Rs 1,81,963.
