New Delhi, Feb. 19 -- Mukesh D. Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited, on Thursday announced plans to invest Rs 10 lakh crores over the next seven years to build what he described as India's sovereign artificial intelligence infrastructure, including huge AI-ready data centres.
Speaking at the India AI Summit, Ambani said the investment, to be led by Reliance and its digital arm Jio Platforms, would begin this year and focus on large-scale data centers, renewable energy capacity and nationwide edge computing.
"This is patient, disciplined, nation-building capital, designed to create durable economic value and strategic resilience for decades to come," the oil refining to telecom tycoon said.
