Nizamabad, Dec. 29 -- Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday demanded the immediate release of water from the Ali Sagar Lift Irrigation Project, warning that delays could severely impact Rabi crops across large parts of Nizamabad district.

In a statement, Kavitha said Rabi cultivation is underway in over 48,000 acres across Bodhan, Armoor and Nizamabad Rural constituencies, all dependent on Ali Sagar water. She said farmers are deeply anxious as water has not been released even though the Rabi season has already begun.
