Mumbai, Dec. 23 -- A delegation of fishermen and activists met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, seeking the release of around 200 Indian fishermen jailed in Pakistan, including 19 from Palghar in Maharashtra, said fishermen's rights activist Jatin Desai here on Tuesday.

Jatin who was part of the delegation along with Diu-Daman Member of Parliament Umesh Patel, said the fishermen, mostly from Gujarat, Diu, and Maharashtra, have completed their sentences. However, they're still detained, violating the 2008 India-Pakistan Agreement on Consular Access, which mandates release within a month of sentence completion .
