Madrid, Aug. 8 -- Young Brazilian central defender Vitor Reis said a talk with Manchester City winger Savinho was a factor in his deciding to join La Liga side Girona on a season's loan.
Reis, born in January 2006, moved to Manchester City from Palmeiras in January this year on a
four-and-a-half-year contract, but only made four appearances, with City now opting to send him to another club in its group of affiliates to gain top-flight experience.
The defender will hope to follow Savinho's route, with the winger becoming established in the City squad after a successful spell with Girona two years ago.
"He spoke to me about the club, La Liga and Spain," said Reis as he was presented to the press
and fans at Girona.
