Pune, Sept. 20 -- Solapur residents' long wait for air connectivity is finally over. From October 15, regular passenger flights will begin operating from Solapur airport on two routes, Solapur-Mumbai and Solapur-Bengaluru.

Ticket booking for these services starts today.

Calling it a "double gift for Solapur on the auspicious occasion of Navratri," union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, said the launch marks a major step toward faster, more convenient, and modern transport for the region.

Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, giving Solapur direct and speedy air connectivity to Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
