Kottayam, March 22 -- The Malankara Orthodox Church has urged the Union Government to take steps to refrain from sending representatives to participate in the Catholica ordination.

Supreme head of the Church, Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, who wrote letters to the President of India, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of External Affairs, said the participation in the Catholica ordination would be legally inappropriate.

While the Malankara Church respects the right of individuals to honor others, it expresses concern that the Patriarch is interfering with India's legal system from abroad.

The Malankara Church appeals to the Central Government not to support actions that could disrupt the peace and stability of the Malankara Church. Ad...
