New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 23 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today asserted that his government is determined to conduct local body elections in the state with 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs), as mandated by the Telangana High Court.
The court has directed that elections be held within 90 days- by the end of September- and that reservation policies be finalised by the end of July.
Speaking to reporters at his official residence in Delhi, the Chief Minister accused the BJP-led Central government of deliberately delaying the approval of two key bills passed by the Telangana Legislative Assembly, aimed at extending reservations for BCs in education, employment, and local bodies.
