Shimla, Aug. 25 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert for parts of Himachal Pradesh, raising concerns for the ongoing Manimesh Yatra in Chamba district.
With heavy to very heavy rainfall lashing several regions, authorities have urged pilgrims and locals to exercise extreme caution.
According to the IMD's morning bulletin, Kahu in Bilaspur recorded the highest rainfall at 190.5 mm in the past 24 hours. Other regions witnessing heavy downpours include Jot in Chamba (159.2 mm), Berthin in Bilaspur (156.4 mm), Naina Devi (148.4 mm), Ghaghas (148 mm), Bilaspur town (140.8 mm) and Chowari in Bhattiyat (140.2 mm).
