Visakhapatnam, Nov. 30 -- Rear Admiral Gurcharan Singh, took over command of the Eastern Fleet, the Sword Arm of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) , from Rear Admiral Sanjay Bhalla.
The change of guard took place at an impressive ceremony held at Naval Dockyard here on Tuesday, a Naval release said here.
Rear Admiral Gurcharan Singh was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1 July 1990 and is a specialist in Gunnery and Missile Warfare.
The Flag Officer is an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla; Defence Services Staff College, Wellington; Naval War College, Goa and the National Defence College, New Delhi.
