Ch. Sambhajinagar, Nov. 15 -- District Collector Dilip Swami stated that the truest tribute to tribal icon Birsa Munda is to ensure that tribal communities receive government welfare schemes promptly and effectively. He was speaking at a programme organised by the Tribal Project Office on the occasion of Birsa Munda's 150th birth anniversary in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Swami highlighted Birsa Munda's lifelong struggle for tribal rights, his efforts against superstition, and his advocacy for protecting natural resources like water, land, and forests. He recalled how the Ulgulan movement created widespread awareness about tribal identity and challenged British rule.
