RCB beat KKR; Kohli, Salt lead charge in opener
Kolkata, March 22 -- Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) began their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 175, RCB reached 177 for 3 in just 16.2 overs, powered by an unbeaten 59 off 36 balls from Virat Kohli. Kohli anchored the innings with a composed knock, striking four boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 163.89. He brought up his half-century in style, lofting Harshit Rana over cover for four in the 13th over, receiving massive cheers from the Eden Gardens spectators. A pitch invader even ran onto the field and fell at Kohli's feet in admiration.
