Bhubaneshwar, April 26 -- The State Government has set in motion the preparatory measures for the smooth and hassle-free Lord Rath Yatra, the famous annual festival of the 12th-century Shree Jagannath shrine in Odisha, in Puri in July next, with the construction of the chariots of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhdra and Devi Subhadra getting underway on 20 April.
Providing updates on chariot construction, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration stated that construction work commenced on April 20.
Of the required 865 holy logs, 576 have already been procured, and the remaining collection is progressing smoothly.
