Hyderabad, Nov. 28 -- The rapid pace of technological change is reshaping defence preparedness, requiring simultaneous production and research, said Lieutenant General Vinod G. Khandare on Friday.

Talking to reporters here, Lt.Gen.Vinod noted that technology now evolves every 6 to 12 months, making it impossible to rely on a single model or decades-long procurement patterns.

Citing the example of the Ministry of Defence placing five major orders within two years, he said this reflects efforts to quickly address rhe capability gaps in the armed forces and support Indian industry as it competes with foreign manufacturers.
