Kolkata, July 12 -- An IIM (Kolkata) Second Year student from Karnataka, accused of raping a young woman in the institute's campus at Joka in south Kolkata, was today remanded to police custody for a week after he was produced before a trial court, official sources said.
The student, identified as Paramanand Toppawakar, a resident of Karnataka, was arrested after the Kolkata Police swung into action following an FIR lodged by the victim at Haridevpur Police Station last evening.
