Shahjahanpur (UP), May 5 -- A 26-year-old youth accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl was arrested in an encounter with the police in Nigohi area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Monday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Dwivedi said that Ashraf, a resident of Nigohi area, had raped a minor two days ago and fled after threatening to kill her if she told anyone. "The victim's mother had filed a case against Ashraf at the Nigohi police station on May 03. The police team was continuously making efforts to arrest the accused," he said.
