Chandigarh, Oct. 6 -- Newly appointed Haryana Congress president Rao Narendra Singh will formally assume charge at the party's state headquarters in Chandigarh this afternoon.

The ceremony is expected to witness the presence of several senior leaders including Haryana in-charge B.K. Hariprasad, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, ex-state president Uday Bhan, AICC secretaries-in-charge Jitendra Baghel and Prafull Vinodrao Gudadhe, along with MPs, MLAs, district presidents and other party office bearers.

Meanwhile, leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda arrived in Chandigarh last evening and is likely to visit the state assembly to meet the Speaker and hold discussions in his office at the Assembly Secretariat.
