Nagpur, Feb. 27 -- Kerala staged a spirited fightback in the morning session, claiming five wickets, before Vidarbha's lower order resilience saw them post a competitive 379 in the Ranji Trophy final here on Thursday.

In response, Kerala ended Day 2 at 131/3, trailing by 248 runs.

Danish Malewar was the standout performer for Vidarbha, scoring a crucial 153, guiding his side close to the 400-run mark. Vidarbha, resuming from their overnight score, added 119 runs before losing their last six wickets. Kerala bowlers tightened their grip as Eden Apple and Nideesh claimed three wickets each, while Nedumankuzhy Basil claimed two.
