Ranchi, March 29 -- The Ranchi district administration has directed all unrecognised private and non-government schools running Classes one to eight to apply for recognition by April 8, failing which they may face regulatory action, including closure.

The directive has been issued in accordance with the Jharkhand Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011, as amended in 2019 and 2025, officials said on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri has asked all concerned school principals, management committees and operators to complete registration and submit applications online within the deadline through the departmental portal.
