Ranchi, Oct. 6 -- Sadar Hospital, has successfully performed a complex laparoscopic surgery on a patient diagnosed with Complete Situs Inversus.

According to experts, this rare congenital condition, with an incidence rate of only 1 in 10,000 to 20,000 individuals, causes major internal organs, including the heart and gallbladder, to be mirrored from their typical positions.

The procedure was the hospital's first successful surgery for a left-sided gallbladder stone, which is normally found on the right side. The Laparoscopic Surgery Department, led by Dr. Ajit Kumar, spearheaded this complex operation.
