Ranchi, Dec. 23 -- The Ranchi police has constituted an eight-member special investigation team to conduct an in-depth probe into the illegal trade of banned cough syrup.
The SIT is being headed by Rural SP Praveen Pushkar, while City DSP K B Raman has been appointed as the nodal officer.
The action follows the recovery of more than 13,000 bottles of banned cough syrup from a truck in the Mandar police station area based on specific inputs received from the Uttar Pradesh Crime Branch. After the seizure, Ranchi Police intensified its investigation to trace various links of the supply chain involved in the illegal trade.
