Hyderabad, July 5 -- Senior BJP leader N Ramachander Rao formally took charge as the president of the Telangana unit of the BJP on Saturday, marking the beginning of a new leadership phase for the party in the state.
Ahead of assuming office, Ramachander Rao offered prayers at the historic Bhagyalakshmi temple near Charminar and performed a pooja. He then paid floral tributes at the Telangana Amaraveerula Stupam at Gun Park, honouring the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana. From there, he proceeded in a rally to the BJP state office where a formal ceremony took place.
