Ayodhya, Dec. 15 -- Ram Vilas Das Vedanti, who played a significant role in the Ram temple movement, died in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh on Monday following cardiac arrest.
The former BJP MP's health suddenly deteriorated during a Katha festival Sunday night. He was admitted to the hospital, where he died Monday.
77-year-old Vedanti has been instrumental in the temple movement. He was the leading character of the temple movement in the 1990s along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's Guru Mahant Avaidyanath and Mahant Paramhans Das. He has also been an MP twice in 1996 and 1998.
