New Delhi, Dec. 30 -- With the repatriation of National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Sadanand Vasant Date back to Maharashtra Cadre (his parent cadre), the Home Ministry has assigned additional charge of the post to IPS officer Rakesh Aggarwal until further orders or the appointment of a regular NIA chief.
Aggarwal, a 1994 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS officer, is presently serving with the terror acts probing agency as the Special DG, appointed in the month of September this year, after his position was temporarily upgraded from being the ADG.
The Office Memorandum of the MHA for assigning Aggarwal with the additional charge was issued on Monday, sources said.
