New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- The Indian Ports Bill 2025, related to regulating the functioning and management of ports, levying fees and charges, and implementing environmental protection measures, was passed by Rajya Sabha today by voice vote amidst the walkout of Opposition members. With this, the bill has received the approval of Parliament. The Lok Sabha had already passed it earlier. Opposition members had proposed amendments to some provisions of the bill, but since they were not present in the upper house, these amendments could not be moved.
