New Delhi, July 28 -- The proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 1200 hrs on Wednesday as the stalemate continued with the Opposition party members in no mood to relent.

Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu urged members to allow the House to function normally but his pleas fell on deaf ears. A few members even held placards in their hands to put forward their point.

Naidu warned the members against showing placards in the House and directed the Secretariat to publish the names of such members today onwards.

Before the House got adjourned, Member of Parliament T G Venkatesh presented the report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture on 'Role of Highways in Nation Building'.
