Dharamshala, Feb. 2 -- The Rajput Kalyan Sabha, Himachal Pradesh, has expressed serious concern over the equity-related regulations implemented by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has demanded their immediate review or withdrawal.
The Sabha held a demonstration here and submitted a memorandum to the Central Government and concerned authorities through the Deputy Commissioner and SDM here.
The demand followed a virtual meeting held on January 24, in which academicians, administrative officers, former military personnel and social representatives unanimously opined that the regulations, in their present form, could run contrary to the core objectives of higher education.
