Jaipur, Jan. 21 -- The Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government in Rajasthan will legislate a new law, on the lines of Gujarat, to have powers to declare a 'particular area' as disturb area, maintain demographic balance in such disturb areas and to protect rights of permanent residents of the area and their tenents.

The proposal to this effect, put up at the meeting of the state cabinet held here on Tuesday (yesterday) under chairmanship of CM Sharma, was approved. Accordingly the requisite bill -The Rajasthan Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Properties and Provision for Protection of Tenents from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Bill - 2026 - will be moved in the state assembly.
