Jaipur, Jan. 22 -- The Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government in Rajasthan will soon introduce a new law, similar to one in Gujarat, aimed at granting the government the power to declare a particular area a 'disturbed area,' maintain demographic balance in such areas, and protect the rights of permanent residents and tenants.
The proposal was approved at a state cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
The necessary bill, titled The Rajasthan Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Properties and Provision for Protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Bill - 2026, will be presented in the state assembly.
