Jaipur, Dec. 27 -- As many as 53 tribal labourers from Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan were rescued from sugarcane fields of Solapur district in Maharashtra where they were allegedly working under bonded labour-like conditions.

A special team of the Rajasthan Police from Pratapgarh, acting on a tip-off, went to Solapur and raided various places to rescue these migrants who were forced to live in isolation to work at sugarcane farms in prolonged and irregular shifts, the Superintendent of Police (Pratapgarh) B. Aaditya said.
