Alwar, April 29 -- A tigress in Rajasthan's Sariska Tiger Reserve has given birth to three cubs, increasingg the total tiger population there to 44, state forest department sources said on Tuesday.

The tigress had been brought to Sariska from Ranthambore in 2023. This is her first litter, and the successful breeding is seen as a positive sign of the reserve's improving habitat and effective management, the sources said.

Forest officials have increased monitoring and surveillance to ensure the safety of the tigress and her cubs, minimising human interference. UNI AKT SSP
