Dharamshala, May 27 -- Raja Khas in Kangra district has been selected as the first solar model village of Himachal Pradesh, an official announced on Tuesday.
The village will receive a grant of Rs. 1 crore to support the development of solar and green energy infrastructure.
Chairing a meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) under the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana (Free Electricity Scheme), Kangra District Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa stated that 43 villages were shortlisted to compete for the solar model village status. The evaluation was conducted over a period of six months, during which solar installations were monitored across all participating villages.
