Thane, Feb. 18 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray called on Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his 'Nandanvan' residence here on Wednesday.
Sources said Shinde expressed gratitude to Thackeray for MNS's support to the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation. Thackeray assured Shinde that his party would extend cooperation to the Shiv Sena in the functioning of the civic body.
In the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, the Shinde-led Shiv Sena emerged as the single largest party. During the mayoral election, the MNS supported the Shinde faction.
