Mumbai, Oct. 1 -- The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena will hold its annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, Dadar West, on October 2 at 5pm, following in the footsteps of late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray who began the tradition in 1966. According to Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena leaders, an invitation to the rally is likely to be extended to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) founder Raj Thackeray.
If Raj Thackeray accepts the invitation, it could effectively signal the start of campaigning for the forthcoming local civic body polls in Maharashtra, and most significantly the battle to control the cash-rich Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Sena leaders said.
