Brisbane, Nov. 8 -- Rain brought an abrupt halt to India's explosive start in the fifth and final T20I at The Gabba, Brisbane, after openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma tore into the Australian bowling attack.

At the time of interruption, India was cruising at 52 for no loss in just 4.5 overs, scoring at a rate of 10.76 runs per over. Gill remained unbeaten on 29 off 16 balls with six boundaries, while Abhishek was batting on 23 off 13 deliveries, having struck one four and one six.

Earlier, Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to bowl first under overcast conditions, hoping to exploit early movement. However, India's openers came out firing, putting the bowlers under immediate pressure.
