Shimla, May 9 -- Himachal Pradesh experienced widespread rain and thunderstorms over the past 24 hours, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting continued thunderstorm activity and gusty winds at isolated places till Saturday.

Significant rainfall was recorded at several locations, with Naina Devi receiving the highest at 38.2 mm, followed by Bharari (30.8 mm), Nahan (29.8 mm), and Jot (18.6 mm). Thunderstorms were reported from Shimla, Palampur, Jubberhatti, Kangra, Sundernagar, and Jot, though no hailstorm or snowfall was reported.

The minimum and maximum temperatures remained largely within the seasonal range, though many places recorded below-normal day temperatures.
