Shimla, May 3 -- The weather in Himachal Pradesh remains rough, and the Meteorological Department has warned that rain, snow, and thunderstorms would continue in many parts of the state for the next four-five days.

This change in weather is due to a fresh western disturbance approaching from Pakistan and a cyclonic system over Rajasthan.

Rain and snowfall are expected in high hill areas like Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur. Places in the middle and lower hills, including Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Sirmaur, Chamba, and Kullu, will also experience light to moderate rainfall.

The weather office has said that thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds, reaching speeds up to 50 kmph, may hit several districts.
