Kochi, Sept. 11 -- Southern Railway has initiated stringent action against stone pelting on trains after two persons were arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Ernakulam, in connection with an incident involving the Kannur Executive Express on August 30.
The incident occurred near Veluthulli gate close to Aroor Railway Station when a stone struck the lookout glass of the locomotive, damaging it. The Loco Pilot escaped unhurt, averting what officials described as a potentially life-threatening situation for both the crew and passengers.
