Aizawl, March 21 -- The much-awaited inspection by the Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) for the newly constructed broad-gauge railway line between Bairabi and Sairang in Mizoram is likely to take place in May or June this year.

This was revealed during a meeting of the Divisional Railway Users' Consultative Committee of the Northeast Frontier Railway held at Lumding in Assam on Friday.

The committee was informed that Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has expressed keen interest in personally attending the CRS inspection. The CRS, functioning under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, will carry out a thorough examination of the line before train services are formally introduced.
