Hazaribag (Jharkhand), Dec. 11 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday morning carried out another round of raids in Hazaribag, stepping up its investigation into suspected terror operative Shahnawaz Alam's alleged network.
The operation was conducted at a residence in the Pelawal police station area, where officials arrived unannounced and immediately began questioning the occupants.
According to sources, the agency's action is based on fresh intelligence inputs related to Alam, who was arrested by Delhi Police Special Cell in 2023. A native of Hazaribag, Alam was wanted in the Pune ISIS module case. Before his arrest in Delhi, he had been involved in multiple robbery and theft cases in Hazaribag in 2019.
