Sultanpur (UP), Feb. 19 -- Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will appear in the MP-MLA court in Sultanpur on Tuesday in connection with a defamation case filed against him by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, official sources said here on Monday.

Sources said that the court fixed February 20 as the next date in the defamation complaint case against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. He has not appeared in the court in the complaint filed five years ago and the court had sent summons and notice against.

Sources said that during the last hearing Rahul's counsel Kashi Prasad Shukla had referred to and said that the Congress leader was busy in Nagaland and Assam. He requested the court to give him time so that he could reach on the date and get bail.
