Guwahati, July 16 -- Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing him of corruption and authoritarianism.
Speaking to party workers in Chaygaon here today Gandhi alleged that Sarma had abandoned the role of an elected chief minister and was instead acting like a monarch serving the interests of corporate giants.
"The Chief Minister here doesn't see himself as a public servant, but as a King of Assam," Gandhi declared. "And this King spends 24 hours a day handing over your money and land to either Ambani or Adani."
