New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, who allegedly took his own life due to alleged caste-based discrimination and harassment.
In a post on X, Gandhi attributed Kumar's death to the deepening social poison of casteism, which he claimed was perpetuated by the BJP-RSS ideology.
"The suicide of Haryana's IPS officer Y Puran Kumar ji is a symbol of that deepening social poison which is crushing humanity in the name of caste," Gandhi said.
"When an IPS officer has to endure humiliation and oppression because of his caste - then imagine, in what conditions an ordinary Dalit citizen must be living," he added.
