Varanasi, Aug. 25 -- Hearing was held today in the special MP/MLA court in Varanasi regarding the statement made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi about the Sikh community during his US visit.
The court has fixed the date of next hearing as September 4.
Advocate Vivek Shankar Tiwari said that Rahul Gandhi's advocate Anuj Yadav has filed an objection letter regarding his client in the court. After reading this letter, a reply will be filed from his side on September 4.
It may be noted that during his US visit in September last year, Rahul Gandhi had made a statement regarding the Sikh community. Nageshwar Mishra, a resident of Tilmapur, Varanasi, had filed a petition against this statement.
