Ranchi, Feb. 21 -- All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi would be coming to Jharkhand on March 2, and is expected to address a public rally here.

In view of Mr Gandhi's visit, the party has cancelled its rally in Gumla on February 24.

Party spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that JPCC in charge RPN Singh has directed to cancel the event in Gumla and make preparations for the AICC chief's event on March 2.

Meanwhile, chairman of the State Congress campaign committee and former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay said that a grand welcome would be given to Mr Gandhi and his public meeting would be be a historic one as he is arriving in Jharkhand, first time after becoming the AICC chief.
